Lester S. Kritzer, M.D. has been a board certified, practicing endocrinologist since 1983, affiliated with Eastern Connecticut Health Network, Manchester Memorial Hospital, and Rockville General Hospital.

Personal & Family

Growing up  in Rockaway Beach, Queens , NY, Dr. Kritzer developed two passions, photography and medicine. While still an avid photographer and dog person, he made medical care his life’s work. Dr. Kritzer also has two children. His daughter is a chef, food blogger, and cookbook author living in Puerto Rico with her boyfriend. His son lives in San Francisco where he and his wife work in computer technology.

Education

After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended The State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center for Medical School and stayed on for his internal medicine internship. He completed his internal residency medicine at Stamford Hospital and then an endocrinology and metabolism Fellowship at The University of Connecticut Health Center.

Why Endocrinology?

“I chose endocrinology and metabolism because I wanted a subspecialty that I would find interesting for the rest of my life.  It requires active thinking about the problems because hormones and metabolism effect every other area of medicine. The problems are treatable, even more so today, so it’s always rewarding to have patients come back feeling and doing better at a follow up visit.”
